What are the Limitations of Prenatalis® NIPT?
The Prenatalis® blood test is a riskless and a highly accurate method to detect the most common trisomies (21, 18, 13) and sex chromosome disorders. However, chromosomal structural changes, translocations or mutations in single genes cannot be identified by NIPT. If the cell-free DNA concentration in your blood is too low, a result might not be obtained. In these very rare instances the test has to be performed again.
